Description:
Extremely windy today. Cool in the upper 40s. My husband will still work outside chipping up all the downed branches fallen over the winter. I am working on a quilt so will stay inside. These winds are so weird. It’s only been in the past 7 or so years that we’ve had these winds that come roaring through. Guessing that it might be less trees to block them. Our Chives have another clump that decided to grow between the sidewalk and the brick border along the garden. Heat pump giving us the heat rather than the furnace. Much warmer outside the past couple days. Weird. Daffodils are blooming. Hostas are poking through the ground. Day lilies are growing all over the place. They’re more like an invasive species. Can’t get rid of them. Irises and other little unknown flowers are blooming. I didn’t plant them. Fewer birds at the feeder. Probably time to bring it down, although I still have a lot of sunflower seeds left. Thought I heard a hawk the other day. Still have Doves, Robins, Mockingbirds, Blue Jays, Cardinals, and Juncos around. Turkeys still hanging around our neighbor’s back yard. Haven’t seen geese overhead. A few squirrels and chipmunks around, especially if it’s warmer. Water supply is good. River goes up and down, depending on the rain. It flows much faster when it’s higher, then settles down once it’s around 4 feet deep. I have no information on any of the other options.
