ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT! A day (and night) of records. Moderate to heave snow most of the day yesterday until around 3:30pm. Total snow fall for the event=8.1"!!! Yes, 2nd highest total for our area since 1800's. Clouds quickly cleared and the temps dropped into a deep freeze. Clear, cold with powdery snow on the ground this morning, temp=3F!!! (record for our area was 9F set in 12/23/1989). Ground, roads and sidewalks (except for in front our house where we shoveled the snow clear yesterday) are covered in snow.
